Safeguard your feline friend from harmful diseases with a vaccination plan.
Starting your kitten off on the right foot sets them up for a lifetime of success. A thorough and timely vaccination schedule is an integral part of their life long health. Additionally, with each kitten visit, there is a complete physical exam as well as time spent on key areas that are important to their overall development, such as parasite control, behaviour, grooming, oral health and nutrition. We typically follow a three-visit plan beginning at 8 weeks of age, with 3-4 weeks between visits. Kittens may receive one or multiple vaccines at each visit, depending on their age and the vaccines needed. Remember that each kitten is unique and we look to tailor our plans to the individual.
The first in the series of kitten vaccines can begin anywhere between 6 to 8 weeks of age.
Beginning at 6 to 8 weeks then every 3 – 4 weeks until they are 16 weeks old. The initial vaccine will be limited to the FVRCP vaccine with Feline Leukemia and Rabies (if being given) introduced later in the kitten vaccine series.
The decision on which vaccines to administer to your kitten is made between you and your veterinarian. Your vet will ask a number of questions to determine what your kitten’s risk of contracting diseases is, and from there you will determine a vaccine plan to keep them protected!
