Paul received his veterinary degree from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1983 and opened his own large animal practice in Hants County, NS in 1986.
In 1992, Paul attended Purdue University to do a Residency in Large Animal Medicine. This experience resulted in an Equine Specialty, Board Certification with the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (Dipl ABVP). Dr. Johnston also became affiliated with the University of Florida where he studied to further specialize in animal reproduction and became Board Certified with the American College of Theriogenology, (Diplomate of the ACT).
An avid outdoorsman, Paul enjoys numerous activities including farming, canoeing, fishing, camping, hockey and hiking with his dogs Roscoe and Reuben.
