Oxford's
Show Jumping Accomplishments

|
Oxford descends from the world's top show jumping bloodlines. He comes from the same family as 1999 North American Show jumping Champion S'Blieft, 1999 Canadian Show jumping Champion Altair as well as Britain's legendary Milton and KWPN Champion sire Olympic Concorde. From what we can see, Oxford also has the qualities of a great champion, athleticism, temperament... In 2002 Oxford came to Nova Scotia as a 6 year green jumper. With rider Jill Swain, Oxford excelled quickly over 2 years, winning consistently over 4'3 - 4'6. He was Equine Canada's Level 5 Zone Jumper Champion for 2002 and 2003. Most recently, Oxford finished third in the $10,000 Farmers Dairy Modified Open Grand Prix (4'6"-4'9") at the 2004 Maritime Fall Fair. This triumph was bitter sweet as it also sadly marked the final competition for the wonderful partnership formed between Oxford and rider Jill Swain. Although he will be missed, most who have watched Oxford jump feel his ultimate potential remains yet untapped, and that he is now ready to face bigger challenges. The veterinarians and staff at East Coast Equine Reproduction Center, former rider Jill Swain and Oxford's Maritime Fan Club would like to wish Oxford, new rider Angie Covert and The Oxford Syndicate, best wishes for continued success! We feel privileged to have had Oxford standing and competing here in the Maritime provinces and have enjoyed watching such an extraordinary stallion come into his own. We will miss "Big Ox" greatly but won't have to look far to see his power and expression in so many of the foals that he has stamped upon us the Maritimes! Good Luck in 2005!
